I remember reading about a few cases of this in para-something-or-other books. It's supposed to be very rare.
Personally, I think it's just a case of someone trying to light a f@rt and having it go very, very bad.

It happened to me when I was 10...
Of course pouring gasoline on myself and playing with a lighter might have had something to do with it.Comment

One lady started burning and went out. She was in the passenger seat of a vehicle with 2 witnesses. Burns all over her thigh.
