    That's easy... they spend a FAR HIGHER percentage of their marketing budget on PR... which is probably the best use of their available resources (and our company would recommend the same strategy for them)

    Still, they've spent a fortune on their new shops, and those seem to be raking it in.
    Market research led them to that strategy... and it's a good one. People want that kind of service, and it fits into the Apple "culture"... one of their better business decisions...

    However, as the profits rise, it will be imitated, and will no longer be a USP. (unique selling proposition for those not in the business)

      Linux will never be anything more then nitch player since it has to many competing standards


      1. it's niche, not nitch.
      2. it doesn't have competing standards--it has competing distributions. it's more like if people were selling various modified versions of windows xp, not all of which completely worked with each other flawlessly, even if they all shared the same api.
