To hang up? Because the person called for a reason, even if a very poor one-who knows how such a situation might escalate and turn into a real problem. So at the very least, give the person some possibly helpful info quickly, then get off the line to wait for a more pressing call. That way, the dispatcher did all they honestly could while being ready for the next call. At the least, it covers one's ass.Originally posted by DinoDoc
