    Good song
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God? - Epicurus

Other countries don't have spelling bees?
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

No, 'cause competition would ruin the kids.

The UK doesn't, I'm not sure if any other country is quite mad enough to have them either.

Thats a game show not a sporting event, I don't see Sky Sports looking to get in on the act.

Yeh, but does Sky Sports have things like poker and bowling like ESPN does?

Yes, Sky Sports cover both bowling and poker.

Face it, making spelling a competitive sport is just plain weird.

Lots of other languages are phonetically precise. Just by hearing the word said you know how to spell it. English requires a lot more memorisation of spellings because of the difference between pronounciation and letter order due to the great vowel shift.
Exult in your existence, because that very process has blundered unwittingly on its own negation. Only a small, local negation, to be sure: only one species, and only a minority of that species; but there lies hope. [...] Stand tall, Bipedal Ape. The shark may outswim you, the cheetah outrun you, the swift outfly you, the capuchin outclimb you, the elephant outpower you, the redwood outlast you. But you have the biggest gifts of all: the gift of understanding the ruthlessly cruel process that gave us all existence [and the] gift of revulsion against its implications.

ESPN covers darts? Hmmm... I've never seen that.

I saw a game on ESPN2 around 3:00 in the morning. Probably more "airing" it than "covering" it, but yes, it was on at least once.
