There was a study recently that showed that cities where there are large gay populations are among the most liveable places in America. Apparently, urban gay people want certain services and quality of life and so they tend to create communities that are more interesting and liveable.

I thought most of the best BBQ places in Texas were in or near Austin.

The best food is in southeast Texas.

Thats why they have the "fattest" cities BS reputation.

The epitcenter of gravity for Texas style BBQ appears to be halfway between Austin & Houston, around Lockhart.

I do have a liking for creole and cajun cooking, as well as the cosmopolitan restaurant scene in Houston, but I aslo enjoy the eclectic and haute cuisine restaurant scene in Austin.

While austin has a history of a fun night life its to crowded Houston has one of the prettiest skylines but again way too crowded and humid. The dallas fort worth area very large as well. While they all have their positives i would still choose to live in san antonio. I admit the night life in sa is not has hopping as 6th street in austin, but austin is close enough to go enjoy it then come home to a quiet place to rest.

god, thats a terrible reason. it has nothing dynamic making it different from the other 30 odd cities of similar size.

austin is where i want to go.
