  • Should the EU capital be somewhere else?

Just for fun, where would be a cool alternate location for the capital of the European Union?

    My suggestions:

    London (or Liverpool, or Preston)
Copenhagen (or Vejle) (or maybe even Torshavn! or Godthab!)
    Frankfurt or Freiburg
    Madrid (or Alcala de Henares)
    Graz

(nations that aren't in the union... yet)
    Stockholm (or Visby)
    Oslo (or Stavanger)
    Helsinki
    Rejkjavik (or Keflavik)

( nations that should be in the Union but never will )
    Zurich, Berne, or Winterthur

I think that anything outside continental Europe is out, so no London.

It would be convenient if Switzerland could join, so the capital could be there. Ah well, Austria is central enough, especially with the members that will be added.

sorry to nitpick but the EU doesn't have a 'capitial', it's not a country. its headquaters are in brussels, and i don't see any reason to move them, although they might consider moving all the functions that reside in strasbourg and luxembourg to brussels to save some money.

Shows how much I know. I thought they had agreed to join but weren't admitted yet. I guess I got confused with the future dates when other nations would have the opportunity to join or something.

But of course the real ultimate EU capital...

The first two lines of the opening post list cities in countries which haven't even adopted the Euro yet. Why should the EU base itself in a country which is only halfheartedly part of it?

Even if you guys are scary competition, I think it would be cool if you were to unify into one nation. With the Pope as Emperor or Elizabeth as Empress!! Yeah, if the EU had an emperor, who else should it be?

Heheheh. The EU as a whole should've adopted the Pound, the Kroner, the Deutschmark, or of course the Dollar.

                              Is that Zhirinovski or Putin?

Okay, Iberia should be one state of the union, as should Scandinavia, and Benelux.
