  • I just had the entire river dumped in my lap

Twice. We were practicing starts, and suddenly out of nowhere this frigging HUGE wake hits us, at least 2 feet higher than the edge of the boat, and dumping what felt like the entire occoquan on my. Then it hit us again, and did the same thing. And then, when we were going in and we picked the boat up, the water decided to all pour out of the bow end... into my shoes. Again. And it was raining the whole time.

    :wet:

Well, this thread took an unususal turn.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

That's what I'm doing this afternoon.

Except now it's raining, normally a - rowing in a drizzle when it's 70+ out is actually pretty nice, and keeps you cool - but it's only ~60 out today, so I'll be frozen by the rain if I don't wear my jacket but wearing my jacket I'll overheat. And it'll probably be more than a drizzle.

When I saw the thread title I figured that Kuci had pissed himself. I was sad to discover that he apparently had not.

I was out in crew warming up for the 2004 cancelled (eventually) Head of the River Race when all of a sudden the wind turned onto the tide and we ended up with 6ft waves crashing over our bowman. Good thing we were only 200mtrs from the landing on our way back as 2-3 more waves would've sunk us, as it was we had water in the boat upto about 2" from the top edge. Nice shower in Thames water.

More fun in the Thames this year: http://www.livejournal.com/~berrimar/302.html
