How do I insert footnotes; so that the numbered quote might automatically make it's own room at the bottom of the page for source reference?

How do I create slightly indented bullet margins; make them stick, and make them stop?

That's the combo I use.

I'm really annoyed that I can't get a script lowercase r though (like the ones Griffiths EM uses to denote certain positional vectors, as in the right side of his equation 4.8 on page 166 of the 3rd edition)
