Hell, if we really wanted to reduce the number of auto fatalities and were willing to spend money like that we could drop the rate of drunk driving to near zero by providing a free chauffeur service for anybody who requested it. You call a number, a dude gets dropped off in front of the bar/house and he drives you home in your own car. You wake up in the morning with your car parked out front. Save 15000 a year right there.
