Tom Fenton said today on the daily show that journalists are no longer doing their jobs. there is no longer any investigative articles from americas mainstream and that the reason why there is spin is because journalists are no longer looking for facts. i tend to agree, and thats why i read european newspapers. the differences in the articles are stunning. when comparing CNN or Fox News, to Le Monde, the largest french newspaper, Le Monde gives more details, more subtlety, more backround, and more points of view, while on CNN and Fox News articles, the first paragraph gives a summary of what happened, and then repeats what was said in the last article which was on the same subject.,

new york times is closer to Le Monde in terms of reporting, however Le Monde seems to give more facts which I was unaware of while, New York Times will just give more detail on the facts I already know about.

It's even visible in American-owned outlets. The difference between CNN-International and CNN in the US is like the difference between the New York Times and the New York Post.
