    Yea, I don't think I'm selling out anymore. I think I've got some good stuff to say, and can do it without repeating Fox's line that Schaffer should be "put out to pasture" which is just terrible. I can keep it from getting personal.

        Naw, I've been on Fox News before, the anchor was quite friendly and even seemed to be on our side a bit. The other time my group was on Fox News, it wasn't bad either. That was Cavuto too. Its not like this is Bill O'Reilly or anything. Plus they said they wanted this segment to be fairly light, so I don't think they are gonna break out the big guns.

              I say sell out because the topic doesn't really concern youth rights, or what my organization (or I) really stand for. The topic is whether Bob Schaffer, temporary replacement for Dan Rather, is too old for the job and should be put out to pasture. I was assured it would be just a light hearted segment, and they just needed someone young on to make that case a bit. Hmmm. I dunno.

              Ack, this sucks. I have no ill will towards Bob Schaffer, and by saying that he is too old for the job I am guilty of ageism myself, and that's definitely not what I am about. Yet, exposure is exposure, the more the better. Plus being the go-to guy for Fox News is cool too, and good for the cause.

              I am going to try the classic sell-out line and see if I can play in the mud and not get dirty. I can say a few things about the merits of youth in general, and hopefully try to avoid attacking Schaffer, or being mean about it. But ack, this will take some finese.

              So if anyone wants to watch me, the media-whore, go on national TV and sell-out, you can tune into the Neil Cavuto show on Fox News today from 4 to 5 PM.

              I watched last night, and that guy is too old. Yes, put him out to pasture.

              You know what would be really cool? If you said on live tv that we need an anchorperson that is a blonde with really big boobies.

                I think I can actually do a good job on the show and still leave with my dignity. Make a plea for diversity, say positive things about youth, and maybe I won't be selling out after all. This will be good.
                good idea. Shift the focus away from him being old. Look for diversity and someone who is not a liberal (actually I'm not sure if he's a liberal- but it is CBS news after all)

                    Ok, looks like its going to be on around 4:35 pm EST. Give or take. It'll be just me and Neil Cavuto discussing Schaffer, and the production assistant lady keeps saying he is going to "have fun with it". THey are sending a car around in an hour.

                    I'm going to do my best to avoid making it political, I'm all about the non-partisanship.

                      Ack! They canceled (postponed) the segment. Some dumbass had to go and shoot people out in Atlanta, so they are devoting the whole hour to that story, and I've been bumped. Grrrr.

                      They are still interested in doing the segment next week sometime, so I'll let you know when/if they go ahead with it again. But for now, no Ozzy on Fox today.

                        Fox has an annoying tendency of doing that. I was doing a thing with them a couple of months ago about college democratic reactions to the news, but some plane crashed into a warehouse, and i got marginalized. The moral? Fox sucks.

                              Eh, all tv stations do that. That's just how it goes. Oh well, lets hope they still run the segment later.

                              I had just got my suit on too when I got the call. Damn Fox making me get dressed up for nothing!
