Of course, myself, I'm an élitist who rarely watches TV.
Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

Well, actually it's not that bad, if you know the channels you can find yourself watching TV from 16-22 or so. There are Star Trek, Simpsons, King of Queens (3 in a row),...

Most people are watching TV from 18 or 19 to 22 or so, this is called the "primetime" and starts at 20:15. Pretty every channel plays a movie or documentary, at least something that lasts until 22 (commercials included). After which comes either another movie or some other stuff like late-night shows or so.

I am in Spain currently and I can tell you it's worse here.

Unterschichtenfernsehen is a well known term here. Of course, only if you watch a certain German late night show....

The last time I was in the Czech Republic, I turned on German TV after I go back from dinner (2200 or so). All the ads were for phone sex lines and the show that started was some sort of sex documentary. I changed the channel to another German TV channel and got the same thing. Of course the Italian TV channel I tried next was no better (but the people featured were better looking).

Yeah, that's an even bigger complaint of mine

All German TVs seem to have commercials for phone sex lines, which feature very "spent" looking models. Too bad.

But DSF also has "sexy sport clips" which feature a good looking girl from time to time (but mostly not).

You must be mistaken, at 22:00 no german tv displays adult commercials.

Yep, they are just allowed to show them after 00:00
(better not watch some channels after this time, if you don´t wish to get bombarded by commercials advertising horny grannies, women with ugly XXL boobs and horny housewifes who would like to do everything for you
[with most of the women starring in the spots having a physical appearance which would rather convince you to become gay than to phone the sex-line they advertise ])

Have you considered the fact that it may actually be 3am in Germany and it is just overnight filler?
