  • Atheism on the Decline; Paganism on the Rise

GURAT, France — Godlessness is in trouble, according to a growing consensus among philosophers, intellectuals and scholars.

    Atheism.

    Paganism.

    HAVE A DAY.
<--- Quote by Former U.S. President Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt
"And there will be strange events in the skies--signs in the sun, moon, and stars. And down here on earth the nations will be in turmoil, perplexed by the roaring seas and strange tides. The courage of many people will falter because of the fearful fate they see coming upon the earth, because the stability of the very heavens will be broken up. Then everyone will see the Son of Man arrive on the clouds with power and great glory. So when all these things begin to happen, stand straight and look up, for your salvation is near!" --Luke 21:25-28
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the call of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, all the Christians who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and remain with him forever. --1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

It's an opinion piece, and I disagree with it's opinions

Observing a similar phenomenon in the United States, McDermott stated that the "rise of all sorts of paganism is creating a false spirituality that proves to be a more dangerous rival to the Christian faith than atheism."
unless somehow I'm just reading bias into that quote from the article

“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
      - John 13:34-35 (NRSV)

That's approx 30 year old news. Are the christians really became that desperate ?
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

Eh um. Articles. And if you do a search on Google you will find tons more sources reporting basically the same thing.

This news, btw, does not really surprise me at all, however, my jaw did drop when I first heard about this. Can anyone here guess why I reacted this way to this piece of news?

I'd rather worship nature than some invisible god.

Nature is life. This planet is what provides me with life. This is why I respect the planet.

The fact you are quoting Moonie's Washington Times leads me to the conclusion that whatever you say is probably not correct.
