  • Macromedia Flash help

Recently, I've been having a lot of trouble with my flash player. A few weeks ago, flash movies stopped showing for me. I discovered that this was becasue I have flash player 5, which macromedia doesn't even support anymore. The uninstaller for version 6 seems to work, and after running the uninstaller and then installing version 7 everything seems to work fine. But then when I log off (of my Windows XP account) and then log back on, I have version 5 again and I have to repeat the whole process! At least I think that's the proximal cause of it...I'll do some testing of it later...

Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this problem?

EDIT: Quick experimentation indicates that logging off doesn't seem to be the cause, although it's a necessary condition for the problem to occur. Perhaps it's restarting the computer or other users doing things...

Are you using an adminstrator account?

Yeah, all the accounts have administrator status.

That's probably why. Somebody else installed the older version of Flash player.
