  • I Just Spilled Hot Water on My Foot

and boy howdy does it sting like a mofo.

I was making cocoa and was moving the pot we use for boiling water over the sink, so I wouldn't spill water on the floor or stove, and enough water to leave a quarter sized burn mark splashed on my foot. Luckily the floor is still dry.

The worst part is that I dont think we have burn cream, so I might end up with a blister on top of my foot.

so the morale to the story is, dont rush while making cocoa. the chocolate gods will punish you.

    Tip: Don't do that.

Solid advice from Asher, as always

Sucks to be you , it seems that you'll have to stay at home for a couple of days.

Aren't you supposed to make it with milk?
It's candy. Surely there are more important things the NAACP could be boycotting. If the candy were shaped like a burning cross or a black man made of regular chocolate being dragged behind a truck made of white chocolate I could understand the outrage and would share it. - Drosedars

Woohoo! We have Neosporin and 1"x1" gauze pads. Unfortunatly we dont have medical tape, and the neosporin isnt the burn treatment type, and duct tape doesnt stick to feet very well, and the neosporin isnt helping any.

It certainly tastes better when made with milk, but milk is something my sister doesnt like buying for some strange reason.

                  Why outsource it...

/me hits self on the head for that very off-color remark.

I once sliced off a bit of my middle finger while chopping onions with my new japanese chefs knife. It hurt like hell and bled like crazy...

Back on the 25 of January I accidently spilled a cup of boiling water on myself. It spread from just right of my navel to my right knee. Got second degree burns and some scaring that will probably be there for the rest of my life.

And yes, it hurt like a mofo!

I grabed a list of first aid instructions that said to submerge it in cool water (if you haven't done this yet, do it). I stood there looking at this burn at is about a foot and a half long thinking, "How on earth do I submerge this?" Into the tub I went. I called "Ask a Nurse" to talk with a professional and she told me to have someone drive my to the ER. No one home, so I tenderly put on some sweats and drove myself to the ER. By the time I got there I was suffering from shock and had a temp of 94 degrees. No waiting to get registered for me. Straight to a room, some nice cool dressings and a great big old shot of Demerol.

By the next day, I had the pleasent discovery that I had picked up the flu while in the ER. Missed work for a week for this series of unfortunate events.

Damn cat tripped me up trying to snuggle with my leg while I was carring the water. At least I could have spilled some on him.
