  • Belgicans appreciation thread

A thread created because our Lowlander brothers and attractive women are so often neglected in our thoughts.

Seriously though, I wish I had more time tonight to give my full appreciation to the....... beers on offer. Belgium has some great blondes, don't disrepect the little ones m'kay?

I don't think I'll try the Morte something mbob again, but the kwak was interesting. I like the Governor Jan pilzner (or something like that, it was too early in the evening in to remember) though.
One day Canada will rule the world, and then we'll all be sorry.

I had a couple of these:

          Saint-Feuillien Noel

Not sure I rate it too highly.

          This stuff was foul:
          Mort Subite Gueuze

The best beer I had was a framboise, but can't remember its specific name, I think it may have been:

          Mort Subite Framobise 375ml

Fruity beers are the future for me though. They taste good and go down smoothly.

            Kriek?

Old Kriek can be very good, the normal one is too sweet for me.

Did you drink it out of the right glass, always fun with first timers, after that, they all know where it's name comes from.
Mixing those two would be a ticket straight to hell btw.

Try some Bush(yeah, I know) beer, don't go binch on it though, You wouldn't survive.

And as always, my favourite..Leffe from a tap!!

Drinking out of a lembic or lambic, like a potion flask, with wooden frame.

I'm actually surprise how light the evening was on my head this morning. We were drinking a solid seven to eight hours, and I was up at seven thirty without any ill effects.

Remembering more about what I was drinking I've decided I don't like wheat beer. I knew I didn't like Hoegaarden, but I tried a Korenwolf (Wild Hamster doesn't sound as good, does it?) and that was pretty acquired taste aswell. The honey beers were pretty tasty, but sweet, the chips helped mix sweet with savoury. I wanted to try a banana beer but we ran out of time and had to get to the station to get home.

For having been out drinking all night, that is a silly time to get up...

Anyway, prepared for another booze-soaked day then?
