Agreed, Alonso is a fighter but I don't think that he can keep Kimi behind him - he isn't a Trulli.

I doubt Alonso will pass Kimi at start. Renault launch system is not the same as last year and McLaren´s could be even be better if you look at Silverstone. The only posibility i see is that Alonso has more fuel than kimi. If the renault is a bit faster in the race than it seemed all weekend Alonso could fight with Kimi as we saw at Silverstone where he could have won without those three seconds lost behind a lapped Trulli.Ich bin der Zorn Gottes. Yes, now it´s oficial. Raikkonnen is the most unfortunate F1-driver ever...
A great race nevertheless! Lots of race incidents and fights for position. But that producer should be flogged in public for not showing Fisis takover of Schumi. I mean wtf??
Amazing race by MontoyaI love being beaten by women - Lorizael

Well this is the end. Having in mind next curses Alonso could get even a wider adventage.
Montoya incredible going froim last to 2nd. At least as quick as Raikkonen, and he has a much more reliable car...Ich bin der Zorn Gottes. Wer sonst ist mit mir?

Yeah, it was a sad race course of Kimi's bad luck - strange things shall happen to threat Alonso.
I'm not that sure Kimi is Jinxed - I just think he is so damn good that he manage to press the machinery harder than Montoya. What he need is a Cruise control button that is activated each 4-5 lap that reduces his pressure on the motor - who cares if that cost 3-4 sec - they are won back in the next laps where he has controlWith or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

It is possible that Kimi choses a setup for his car that sacrifices reability in favour of speed while Montoya choses the opposite. Maybe KR could gain in reability lossing 0,2 or 0,3 sec per lap, but of course he wouldnt seem so fast compared to Montoya then.Ich bin der Zorn Gottes. Wer sonst ist mit mir?

Somehow I don't think it's his setup that makes him fast - I simply thinks he is a better driver. As stated earlier, both Kimi and Montoya had that "wriggeling" that sent Montoya to place 20 - the difference is that Kimi could control it.
Being a better driver also means that the mechanics has to work at top pressure at longer periods and that may be what kills his machinery.
And no, I'm no expert, I just try to get some discussion into this thread wich I think is a little boring
I've tried hard claiming that Trulli is a roadblock, but you jerks just agrees with me

I think that kimi is slighty faster that Montoya too, not so faster how it seems this year. Dont forget Montoya is new at McLaren and he is the second driver, was out along several races due to his ridiculous tennis accident and he has been improving in the last races. And dont forget that de la Rosa and Wurz were at the same pace as Kimi in his respective races.
Something like Renault with Fisi. Alonso is better than Fisi IMO but Fisi is not so bad as seems this year.Ich bin der Zorn Gottes. Wer sonst ist mit mir?

Yeah, but isn't that what F1 is all about - who can take 2-3/10 of a sec per lap. Though, I think that Kimi is pretty more faster than Montoya, and he makes less faults - not that he is flawless. His flattening of his tyre wit that awful destruction of his mechanics on the last lap was really bad (where is the nearest
).
