    • Nah, dirty words are the same both in Portugal and in Brazil.

I really don't think Schumi can win. A podium, maybe, but not victory.

Raikonnen starts from a bad position, especially considering how complicated that first corner is - accidents are not unusual in that place.

Alonso is in a good position to win. Let's see what strategy Renault has planned for him.

But it´s still danish, it´s not like swiss german or pigeon english...

And Västergötland has never been under the yoak of danish oppression like Skåne, Halland and Blekinge

        • Meh Good race with a lot of incidents and really good racing. But no points for Renault or BAR Raikonnens win is good for the rest of the season though...

          • I was really concerned when both Renaults took the first two places after the start. "Oh, no, Alonso will win again and the rest of the season will be boring..." Thankfully both he and Fisichella had to abandon.

Impressive race by Barrichello. Sure, he had luck with all those cars retiring from the race, but even so he was consistently fast and did not make great mistakes.

Being a fan of Schumi, I was delighted to see him on the podium again...

Massa did a pretty good job too, especially because in the end his tyres were almost gone and he still managed to hold Webber behind him.

Now, what the hell happened to Williams? They were bad during the whole weekend...

Weird moment: Sato returning to the race 24 laps after he retired. I didn't even know that this was allowed. I mean, the team returned him to the race probably because they wanted to test something, but, hey, there was a race happening there!

All in all, a good race. Alonso still is in the lead, but now the battle gets more interesting.

            • Sato returned because if he finished he would get a better start in next weeks qual - don't know where he ends but probably still better.

Yeah, great race - could have been fun if there had been a heavy shower in the last 10 laps just to stir things up a little .

              • Strange race. All kimi´s bad luck have been payed back generously. Fisi, Alonso and Montoya would have finished for sure ahead of him today.

Champioship is now more interesting because points, allthough Alonso´s 22 points gap seems much more wide now since Renaults seem extremely strong now. It seems difficult to see again McLarens so strong again like in past races.

Fisi has bad luck, again. Great start. He could have won today.

Alonso was the quickest today along with Montoya but he made a mistake. His fault.

Montoya was in the pace with Alonso and he would have won. But his race was totally screwed by that safety car. However the black flag was his fault too.

Kimi had extreme good luck today. First and above all the incredible DNF of the three first cars and second because that safety car. His race was not brilliant in any way but he survived and won.

Michael was acceptable. allthought it seems he lacks a bit of ambition right now (or maybe simply he lacks speed) he should/could have pushed harder in last laps IMHO.

Nice race for Barrichelo, started in last position and finished in podium. Allthough there were a lot of DNFs ahead: BARs, Reanults, Trulli, Montoya...

                • Another great race to watch.
I think they were harsh on Montoya. I would have liked to have seen him to the end of the race.
Massa is continuing to show that he can be fast, but he also demonstrated a lot of maturity in his battle with Webber.
                  What?

                  • His own team was harsh on Montoya too. They SHOULD have pitted him first when the safety car went out because he was ahead of Kimi in the race and he was being faster too. They screwed his race completely. It seems they have clear priorities in McLaren.

                    • This may be called a little threadjacking, but since it's also about racing and a once a year race, I guess that you don't mind

Besides the Indy Formula 1 race this weekend, there are also Le Mans 24 hour.

I guess that we all agree that a F1 race is tough to drive and is hard on the cars, but wouldn't it be fair to say that a F1 is 100m sprint and Le Mans is the marathon ? Ok, regulatives has been softend so you may have three drivers that max may drive 4 hours out of six and max 14 out of 24, but still the cars has to perform on top level for 24 hours.

This year is a little special. I guess that you all know Tom Kristensen, but do you really know his claim to fame ?

Currently he shares max number of won Le Mans races with Jacky Ickx wich is six times, but he has managed to do it five times in a row wich noone else has done - if he wins this years race, he gets max number and secures his stretch record for at least six years.

Sadly he (and his team) is a little handicapped this year. During the preparations to this years race they got their 2004 monocoque destroyed and are going to use a 2001 ditto, wich of course misses what development has been done. Due to regulation they also has to carry an additional 50 kg of deadweight so they cannot go as fast as the others on longsides.

To get around this little problem they seems to go for a breaking strategy that would scare the sh!t out of me. I have to translate this from a danish paper, so it might not be too clear, but I hope I don't mess it up too much - Their car has a better breaking performance than the competitors, so they are planning to overtake them in the curves because they can keep speed for approx 40 meters longer, but that isn't just a piece of cake - to quote TC a little roughly "breaking down from 310 km/hr 40 meters later than another car before a turn, then we come with 310 side by side with a car that only goes by 200 km/hr and funny things may happen".

Oh, you may have guessed it, but Tom Kristensen is danish, so I hope the best

Last, I guess that you all have seen what happens when a F1 racer looses downforce, but when a Le Mans racer looses it, the car acts slightly different - just take a look of this little clip of a Mercedes-Benz from the 1999 Le Mans.

With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

                      • michelin is telling drivers not to race on sunday if they cant figure out what is making their tires explode. they supply 7 out of the 10 teams with their tires.

                        • I'm so pissed off that I really wanted that teams which have Michelin really decided not to race so that the event could be cancelled by FIA.

I'm pissed off because Rede Globo, the TV network which has the rights to broadcast F1 here in Brazil, will cut the race after 45 minutes to transmit a ****ing soccer game from an unimportant competition. Who cares about Brazil x Mexico, really?

I'd rather watch the race, it seems like interesting things could happen tomorrow, what with Alonso starting in 6th and Trulli on pole... Damn.

Well, approx 9 hours into the Le Mans race, it seems that Tom Kristensen and his team are aiming for victory - currently 1 lap ahead

                            • Isnt it boring to see cars going around along 24 hours? However 9 hours and only a lap ahead seems a very close race.

About the Michelin question, it would end with all michelin teams sanctioned becuase a tyre change before the race. So, we would see Ferrari some laps ahead and Jordans and Minardis holding all the field behind them.

                              • The race tonight will be very interesting indeed. Toyotas first ever pole, Alonso starting from 6th position and of course the whole tyre issue. Raikkonnen also looks extremely strong and won´t give anything away for free...

Let´s just hope we don´t see anything like this tonight...
