It's not like Liverpool has had much glory as of late .

They are the best club that England has ever produced. In the 70s and 80s they were pretty much unbeatable. I'm old enough to remember that side.

Anyone else remember Sammy Lee? He was one ugly mutha.

And of course Newcastle spent most of that time in division two with such luminaries as Imre Varadi in the side.

Imre Varadi Watched him play for Rotherham a few times, at the arse end of his career.

                He didn't have a non-arse end.

Didnt think he had that good a time at Rotherham, good player though.

In the second half. Newcastle were worse in the first half. Bowyer's goal was the only good thing they did (great goal too - I loved how he flattened Dyer to make it "his").

I thought Newcastle looked like their old selves in the second half. At least Dyer no longer has the fans calling for his head - I thought he was great today. Makes a change from tantrums and public urination.

Laurent Robert appeared to have put on two left boots, and Gary Speed should be on our team, but an OK game with a number of baffling decisions from the **** in black.

In Newcastle lore he rates along with Kevin Scott and Mark Stimson.

The Manchester Derby doesn't count, btw...
