  • Going nuts with anticipation!!!

    I'm going to blow up!!!

I don't have anyone to talk to right now so i'm going to use you guys to vent a bit.

I just had a job interview and they basically said that i got the job. It's in my field, it's more money, it's exactly what i want at this point of my career.

I'm trying to stay calm, not to jump the gun - after all, she didn't say that i had it yet. What she said was that she still had to go through the interviewing process with the other candidates (7 of us AFAIK) but she also said " I am very confident that i will be contacting you again sometime next week. It is very diffcult to find people with your level of technical knowledge in this field."

The only possible snag: the company that i currently work for has a stake in the one i have applied for. They have some rules regarding transfer of employees and employees who apply for jobs at the other company. I don't think it will affect me... but you never know.

    Anyway:

Gotta get rid of all that adrenalin.
    What?

I just sent off my resume for a web design job with the Everglades National Park. I'm pretty sure I'd be on the top of the list if it weren't for the strange rules the Fed's have about hiring. I really want this job. Good pay, great bennies, and working for my favorite nat'l park.

Maybe you should have fired your gun at that FBI job you once had a chance to get a shot at

                    Edit : Totally forgot : ´

Since this has turned from a "Richelieu's good news thread" into a "Who cares - let's talk about ME!" thread...

I finally got ahold of a potter's wheel today. It hasn't been used in years and it's a bit of a rust bucket, though. The insulation on the power cord has split and broken apart a bit... I don't know if it would be enough to just patch it up with electrical tape, and my chances of finding a replacement cord are about nill (it's got a special socket on the end that plugs into the peddal). The guy was also saying that it probably needs some lubcrication in the gearbox... but I know nothing about mechanics, and haven't a clue what I should get for that. (any recomendations?)

But, really, with a bit of work and some paint, I'm sure it'll be as good as new....

                          Thanks for the nice comments.

As for describing the job itself, well, i'm going to be an SAP security consultant. SAP is the major player in the Enterprise Resource Planning business. I guess you could compare SAP to MS Office, except that intead of Word, Excel, Access etc... you have Human Resources, Material Management, Project Systems etc... basically anything that a business does, bundled in a software that can be customized to respond to their specific need.

It can be as boring as it sounds but it can also be very challenging if you like what you do.
                          What?

I hope for you that you get it.

In my case, it really helped that a girl that worked with me in the job i have now got a contract with the one i'm applying for.

Oh, so we are second choice? I'm hurt .
