      Berke Breathed's original strip was Bloom County. Ask Tuberski, he'll concur. This snippit was probably 1985, after Mondale lost and the Dems were directionless.

              Ginny and Clyde, I think. They had several major storylines at the time, but you're right, I haven't seen them since.

              "Blondie" becomes pretty major -- she's Joan Jr., aka JJ, future ex-wife of Michael Doonesbury.
