Myth #1 The EU Consitution will actually have any significance other than being a mealy mouthed restating of the status quo, while simultaneously being an example of European mass bureaucratic mastrubation which I'm told (in MT144 threads) is popular in Europe."Wait a minute..this isn''t FAUX dive, it's just a DIVE!"
"...Mangy dog staggering about, looking vainly for a place to die."
"sauna stories? There are no 'sauna stories'.. I mean.. sauna is sauna. You do by the laws of sauna." -P.

The #1 myth is that the people of Europe actually wants this. In Spain, by far the most EU-friendly country in Europe, only half the population bothered turning up to vote wether or not Spain would agree to the constitution...Vive la liberte. Noor Inayat Khan, Dachau.
...patriotism is not enough. I must have no hatred or bitterness towards anyone. Edith Cavell, 1915

That it will somehow turn the EU bloc into a superpower and knock off a new cold war.Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

Seriously, there's one myth that seriously irks me, and that I've heard often as a justification for the Yes.
"To repell the Constitution would spell the end of the EU".
This statement is patently false, many people believe it, and for many it's the main argument for voting in favour. Even if I was in favour of the constitution (which I was until recently), I would be disheartened that the most convincing argument for my fellows would be a lie based on fearmongering."I have been reading up on the universe and have come to the conclusion that the universe is a good thing." -- Dissident

"I have never cut off my penis when I was upset over a girl." -- Dis

Bleh, you guys just have shorter attention spans and can't handle 200 ****ing pages. Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God? - Epicurus
