My family on my father's side were peasants in Britanny. Because of the lack of any lore in the family, I strongly doubt it has ever been close to royal blood.

My mother's side is Jewish, making it unfit for being close to royal blood as well, in Europe at least. Well, maybe not, as Isabella's husband had Jewish ancestors, and my family had lived in Spain. Maybe I am really related to the guy, as Molly said

Yes, but presumably he didn't get the pregnant.

As far as I know, my ancestors were humble Norwegian fishermen and German peasants.

my wifes family claims to be descended from Rashi, the very prominent medieval Jewish commentator on the Bible and other Jewish texts. I cant vouch for the accuracy of that, but given that he had several grandchildren, that a marriage to a descendant was presitigios, and given how tight the late medieval demographic bottleneck is for Ashkenazic Jews (virtually all descended from fewer than 50,000 in late 15thc or so) it wouldnt surprise me if its true.

In turn its traditionally held that Rashi is a descendant of the line of King David ( I presume via the Babylonian Exilarchs, who claimed Davidic descent) Of course medieval era geneologies of this type are notoriously unreliable. Still, QOTM and POTM can at least claim royal descent from King David. (unfortunately this is through the female line - Rashi had no sons - so they are not in line to produce the moshiach)
