I'm sober right now, but on a related note, I just remembered why SSRI antidepressants are still a prescription medication: if they were available OTC, the American Beer Industry would collapse.
This is the sort of thing you discover when you're brushing your teeth in a dorm bathroom and a guy stumbles in, introduces himself at seventy-five decibels, asks your name, and then repeats your name twelve times for you so you can affirm that he got it right. Then the guy's friends come in and gently lead him off to bed, and you ask, "how many drinks has he had tonight?" Only two beers, as it turns out. I ask, is he on SSRIs? Oh yeah. They're the one good thing about depression; a guy on Prozac can't even swallow his first beer before he's so drunk he can't taste it. Good times, good times.

...does it bother anyone else that laurentius apparently got drunk whilst watching Contact? I mean, Lost In Translation I could understand, if only because it means you get to stop watching Lost In Translation, but, what, was he playing the Drink Every Time Jodie Foster Gasps Over-Dramatically Game?"Love the earth and sun and animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown . . . reexamine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul, and your very flesh shall be a great poem and have the richest fluency" - Walt Whitman
