Do you hate those lawyers too, or only the ones that the side you don't approve of hires?Republicans love to demonize lawyers while turning a blind eye to the evils of big business CEOs. Do you think businessmen are more honest than lawyers, Ned? I'm not a Democrat, I'm a right-winger, but its this type of knee-jerk idiocy that makes me hate the Republican party.

As for this legislation, I don't see anything wrong with it. There are many forum games involved in class action suits. The Fed Cts are probably best suited to handle these huge, multi-state claims.
If there are a lot more Republicans like you, the party is in deep trouble.

Well lawyers are among the least trusted professionals in the US.

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

Nice school . I went to Rutgers for undergrad; only a few schools are older, and W&M is one of 'em.

          Oh, and Colonial Williamsburg, rocks!

... and all of the other distrusted professionals are businessmen of some sort. At least Lawyers have the bar association, which can be fairly harsh with ethics violations. Ask Bill Clinton.

I don't have any particular problem with businessmen, its just naive to think that, as a group, they're any better than lawyers.

Lawyers will always abuse the system if they can get away with it legally. Once an abuse is identified, we need to fix it.

Forum shopping for class actions has become a scandal. The only people who would not favor fixing the loopholes are people who care nothing at all about justice.

So long as Democrat demonize corporations they will remain a minority party. Schwarzennegger got elected on a pro-business climate platform. He represents where America is at now.

Most particularly, the people are no longer fooled by the lies of the Democrats. Class action abuse is not about vindicating the rights of people against big corporations. It is about making lawyers rich by gaming the system.

Imran, it is amazing that you have abandoned ethics and now favor abusing the system to get big bucks for lawyers. I know where you are heading in law. You will be the kind of lawyer I totally despise:

                      A self-serving, greedy liar.

Ned, it is amazing that you have abandoned ethics and now favor abusing the system to get big bucks for corporations at the expense of victims. I know where you are heading in life. You will be the kind of person I totally despise:

A pathetic, screw-the-victim, corporate boot licking lackey.
