I am not sure it would be completely useless. It would essentially be a heavy armored infantry unit. It would be immune to small caliber machine gun fire. So, it would be very effective against light infantry and possibly light armored vehicles. And if it were equipped with a big enough gatling gun, it might even be able to shoot down incoming rockets, giving it some defense against certain types of heavy weaponry.
