He really wasn't an uncompromising left winger, the media just painted him that way.

You know if the Democrats abandon their stance on abortion it could really make room for a strong left wing party.

It was actually really fascinating. Dean was to the center of Kerry, Gephard, and Edwards, and yet so many people (and I allude to the OP) have been lulled into the belief that he is a left-wing nutcase. Maybe, in the course of his chairmanship, he will shake that label.

I guess they are standing on principles. Good for them. They can lose all the elections they want. It is certainly their right.
Lincoln, such optomism for the Repugnantcans deserves something to balance it out.

Dean will lead the Great Revolution and show Americans the Light! Within 10 years the Republicans will be humiliated and in shambles. America will return to her former one-party system with the same one party: the Democratic Party, defender of freedom, protector of the American Way.

          Seriously:
I have little opinion. Dean will be a fine chairman for a fine party. Hopefully he'll lead us to challenge all the madness the Grand Old Puke is pushing.

The DNC chair's job is primarily fund raising. Dean proved he was a master at that. He'll be better than McAullife.

And personally, I don't think there's a Democrat out there that right-winger would "like" for this job. So their opinions (right wingers) are irrelevant and useless. As usual.
To us, it is the BEAST.

I'm surprised Joe doesnt want to quit his party after the way he was looked over in the 2004 nominations.

I was going to say Zell Miller originally, but I don't think anyone truly believes he's a Democrat. Hell, even the Republican Party probably doesn't want someone as disturbed as 'ole Go-to-Hell Zell...

note: I edited the original post from John to Howard Dean.

Oh, sorry about that. I keep getting this guy confused with John Dean. If you are over 50 you would know what I mean. We heard his name constantly for several years during the 70's. Anyway, Howard Dean is so far left that even Republicans voted for him in the primaries last time because they knew he would lead the democratic party in a direction where they could not win a national election. Go for it Howard. We are rooting for you!

A pro-gun politician looking to balance the budget. What a crazy pinko commie that is.

He'd lose his seat in the Senate if he did. CT is solid blue. I don't know why the Dem's don't throw him out.

But he's not far left. What he is is militant, which most people mistake for extremism. Kerry was to the left of Dean, but because he's mild mannered, he seemed more centrist.

The funny thing about Dean supporters is they really think a guy like that has a chance of winning. Conservatives are his best friends. He was on the cover of one mag in particular (I can't remember the name off hand) with a caption that said: vote for this man! Wisely, John Kerry won out but the Democrats learned nothing. They are held captive by the far left radicals like Dean.

Just curious Lincoln, what aspects of Dean's record do you believe make him a "far left nut case" or a "far left radical?"
