It means that polls are a fickel thing and that a string of good news mostly uninterupted by bad news will poll numbers. Also if the news (good or bad) trickles out and seems redundant it fades into the background of the public's conscience.

Hey tassy, nice crap cartoon. Got any more propaganda to post from communistunited.com?
Or do you think that the things mentioned within the comic are true, but nevertheless think the comic is crap, because such things shouldn´t be mentioned?Tamsin (Lost Girl): "I am the Harbinger of Death. I arrive on winds of blessed air. Air that you no longer deserve."

I'm happy that Bush is asking for modest cuts to the bloated federal deficit but I doubt they will ever happen. Bush and the Republicans in Congress gave away buckets of money to every special interest they could find in order to win last November's elections and now that Bush won and can't run again he feels safe enough to cut programs. Good, but the Republicans in Congress can and likely will run again thus they won't want to cut anything. Ergo Bush's request for spending cuts is an empty gesture because he knows they won't ever happen.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.

Without a balanced budget amendment and (as of yet) no dire consequences from running deficits, members of congress are going to continue running on pork barrel politics. Simple as that. Deficit hawks basically cut their own throats if they can't provide for their district. If I had the U.S. treasurary as a credit card, I think it would probably tempt me too.

Well with a lot of face time for the inaugeration, the SotU and the (apparent) success of the Iraqi elections, this is a bit of a no-brainer.
Still what really confuses me is who the hell are the people who voted for Gore in 2000 and for Bush in 2004, according to polls that's about 10% of Gore voters, those people must be really really strange.Stop Quoting Ben
