Linda Dollar, 51, and John Dollar, 58

            Ah, the Almighty Bucks.

The boy was bleeding from a laceration on his head and had red marks on his neck. He weighed 59 pounds, she said.

"That was just the start of the alarming parts of this case," she said in a telephone interview.

Tierney said investigators believe John Dollar grabbed the boy by his neck, raising him off his feet and then dropped him. The boy struck his head on a fireplace, causing the laceration to his head, she said.

Authorities went to the home in Beverly Hills, about 85 miles north of Tampa, and interviewed the other children, including twin 14-year-old boys who were so malnourished they weighed 36 and 38 pounds apiece, Tierney said.

"To look at the photos I saw, it was just extremely unnerving," she said. "They looked like pictures from Auschwitz."

The Dollars are accused of forcing the five children -- who range in age from 12 to 16 -- to sleep in a closet in the master bedroom with a "wind chime affixed to the door so that the Dollars would know if they tried to get out of the closet," Tierney said.

In addition, they are accused of using a cattle prod or some sort of stun gun to shock the children, securing them to spots in the house with chains, striking their feet with hammers and pulling the children's toenails out with pliers.

"There was evidence of damage or missing toenails of these children," Tierney said.

            Ugh.

She said there is no evidence of sexual abuse.

Tierney said it also appeared that the Dollars tried to keep the children inside the home as much as possible and that each one was home-schooled.

Damn anti-family government interfering with the right of parents to raise their kids as they see fit.^-^

Call me what you want, but this is were an eye for an eye theory fits in. We just had a four yo boy that died over christmas from starvation. The grandparents kept him taped down to his bed most of the time and when he died the A**Hole people raising him were eating and drinking celebrating christmas while this kid was taped to his bed starving.

What I can't figure out is how two people like this can find each other. Are the Satanists or something? Is there a club you join to meet people like this? Not that I want to join. I hope no one thinks that. I'm sick to my stomach. I feel sorry for the people who found the kids too.

I can't figure out anything about something like this. I can stomach nearly anything, but this is just awful. I can't even read the whole story at once, it's just so sick.

Perhaps only one of them was inclined to this sort of thing when they met... or perhaps niehter of them where, and they developed it together, or maybe they where both sadists and slowly felt each other out by chance. (I think "sadist" is an understatement, but I really can't think of an apropriate name for this behaviour. Hell, atleast the nazis had some sort of rationale, even if it was made of bigotry and/or paranoia - what do these people have?)

Anyways.... They should of joined the military so that they could get paid to do this sort of stuff. Dumbasses.

EDIT: oops, maybe I was beaten.

You know, that guy kinda resembles my grandfather, and is really the epitome of what I associate with the whole 'grandfather' / "friendly good natured old man" persona.

                        It's a bit disturbing.

Even moreso when it makes me remember that my grandfather - or anyone - isn't always good natured even though I think of him that way, and has shown from time to time a dark twisted side that you don't normally see. And then even moreso moreso when i think about my dark side, and all the things that goes through my mind every now and then that make me shiver - thoughts of my own that even I myself don't like to think about. EDIT: And then, even moreso moreso moreso when that leads me to think of all the past actions I've done in the past that seem so wrong that I couldn't ever dream of doing... but I did!

My first thought on seeing that photo was "Dear Lord, it's Johnathan Winters!"
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

what I'm really happy about, is they weren't apprehended in Las Vegas. Far too often, sickos come to my city thinking they can blend in with the diverse population.
