Easy. Give the Nepalese Military tons and tons of guns. Hands off approach. But I hate the absolute monarch in Nepal, as well as the rebels. I don't see anything good coming out of this. I think the King will crush the rebels no problem (cause the Nepalese military is far stronger then the Maoists and is actually receiving international support), but both sides really suck.

Yes, Mao did theorise that. Though my understanding is the peasantry would be needed to form the backbone of revolution, to be led by the proletariat. In fact, IIRC, he maintained 3rd world countries such as China could not a communist country overnight, and the revolution should be a socialist one instead of a communist one.Originally posted by chegitz guevara

In some sense, yes. It's all based on the fudamental belief that the proletariat is too weak in 3rd world countries. That's why Mao developed "liberated areas" encompassing large rural areas, where socialist reforms were carried out. For example, land reforms took land away from landlords and rich farmers to distribute among poor peasants.
