We should also invite the AFA (an "anti-Fascist" organization whose idea of defending democracy is kicking the **** out of anyone who disagrees with them).
Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

Yes, you are wrong. The government declared the KKK a 'terrorist organization' in 1871 and utterly destroyed it. Of course, then the Klan Act was declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court, but by that time the original Klan was a shadow of itself.

The Second Klan arose during the 1920s, but within 10 years started dwindling in popularity until it dissolved in 1944.

Any other re-births of the Klan were small and of little influence.

The Commies were treated badly, but I think the Klan of the 1870s may have been treated worse (and deserved it, btw).

I think we're going to have to ask for some chapter and verse links on that potted history, Imran.

I rather suspect the 'total destruction' was somewhat less than total, dependent upon where you were in the United States, and whether or not members of the state legislature, judiciary and local police forces were Klan members or supporters.

Here's to Paul Robeson Place and Anne Frank Avenue, anyway.

Hmm... RTS isn't a political movement. And they don't start riots.

They start parties which are then broken up by riot police.

          The evil capitalist police...

If RTS isn't political, how come they always write political symbols and slogans as spray graffiti at those parties? How come private and public property are always deliberately damaged at those parties? How come RTS always "just happens" to have a large pile of pavement stones ready before the police arrives?

That Klan movement, however, was more akin to a guerilla / terrorist army than today's klans. Those were guys who fought pitched battles with the Union army. There were a couple of years after the Civil War were it seemed to be breaking out again.

The repression of the modern klan should be compared to that of the communists, and in that respect, the Kland has been far better treated. However, organizations like the Order, had the full weight of the FBI come down on them (which is to be expected when you rob Wells Fargo and bomb an FBI office).
