Pearl Harbor is bad, though The Patriot would probably edge it in the award for worst ever.

I love John Wayne. What can I say? The movie was unrealistic in many, many ways...but does that in itself make a bad movie?

Definately 3 that should definately be on the list.

The Patriot is pretty bad, though entertaining

I think the cheeziest part is when Mel Gibson charges a horse during a full frontal assualt using the American flag as a spear.

Saving Private Ryan and Tora, Tora, Tora are at the top of my list. I also saw a four and a half hour Soviet era production of Leo Tolstoy's War & Peace which was damn good. In a capitalist society no one could have reproduced Napoleonic war battles using tens of thousands of soldiers simply because of the cost but the Soviets did and the results were world class. Another interesting piece of Soviet propaganda/war movie is The Battleship Potemkin produced in 1925 and covering how the Tsarist Battleship Potemkin revolted and joined the Bolsheviks.

For the subgenre of POW movies:

                        Stalag 17
                        The Great Escape

I went to a boys school, we spent a considerable amount of time in the corridors whistling the theme. As for burrowing through Tom, Dick and Harry, suffice to say that the rugby field was an ...inappropriate location .

                            Pearl Harbor

and Black Hawk Down was awesome, I don't know what is up with you haters, but that movie rocked...
My favorite part is when they look down at the fleet and you can blatantly see Nimitz carriers and Aegis Destroyers. I mean common, with all the special effects in that movie that would have been the easiest one to get right. Just sloppy.

That is almost beat thouth, by the exploding Sprucans in the attack seen.
