Capitalism will not break down if we continue to address abuses and to use fiscal and monetary policy to address the business cycle.

However, I do note that Marxists across the board are doing everything in their power to cripple the US economy by any means at their disposal, but mostly now through extreme remedies for small enviromental problems.

I believe that policy can help, but there's a limit. It's really a short run gap filler.

I know this is from 2005...but I find this intriguing. Now in 2012...is capitalism going through the first stages of a shake-up or breakdown ??

        • Marx did say that global socialism could only be reached when global capitalism has been attained, though it remains unclear how this would happen. His justification is purely metaphysical, not empirical.

I believe that empirical signs of the "how" are pointing out on the horizon, though it will be a long time.

          • capitalism overshoots, it has booms and busts, it always will, that is why

            • The problem with capitalism isn't the boom and bust cycle anymore as Marx saw it. The capitalists don't overshoot as much anymore as global population growth has slowed and populations age. The problem in the future will be underproduction and low expectations.

There is no christian social system. Social systems are chosen by the world, not God.

I find it interesting that you not only judge me but continuously speak your judgement against me as though you haven't said it yet.

Is morality chosen by the world too, and not by God? Or does morality have nothing at all to do with the social system?

The world is not moral. It choses immoral systems, at least in the way that they are actually executed.

                              • capitalism has failed to produce optimal value everywhere (which is to impoverish the masses for the benefit of a few old farts) because communism was stopping it.
Now it has reached its full potential and is discredited.
A multipolar world is gradually reaching new equilibrium the way a body is fighting off cancer.
