  • Truman Capote?
    What?

    • A qualified guess, but it's not him.

I guess this guy is not a top tier celebrity as such, although he is widely admired for his accomplishments in a special field.

He was American, and an artist.

Looks like a wizened Woody Allen, or a pickled Clement Greenberg.

          • No, sorry.

This one is probably too difficult...

New hints: Among his 'creations' were a famous rich man, an infamous group of boys, and an entire burg where most of the characters resided.

So it's going to be Rudolf Dirks or someone like Harold Gray.

              • Not the Katzenjammers or Little Annie, his characters and stories became much, much more popular. Strange, that the man himself remained relatively unknown outside certain parts of Europe.

He was born in 1901 and died in 2000.

                  • Your_winner!!

Provided we overlook that you didn't observe the 4-poster rule at all...

                    Carl Barks it is.

Also, can't abide Disney, and have never heard of Carl Barks.

So I suggest you have another go, Winnie ol' chum.

You managed to get yourself into this mess, now you try and work your way out of it!

Never heard of Carl Barks... Ha!

                          Now now.

As I said, I don't like Disney, the film cartoons or the comics.

I was glad when Bambi's mother was shot, and Dumbo lost its mother.

And let's not get into a who's heard of whom pissing contest over cartoonists. Especially ones I haven't heard of.

                          • Ok, if you agree to post a new set of eyes for us to guess, I'd be willing to keep urinating in a more conventional fashion.

Can't find a decent sized photo of the person I'd like to use.

Also, am at a public library terminal so I have but ten minutes left.

Fair enough. Here's one that should be a little easier to guess than the last one.
