  • point of having a territory?

so, I build my planets, bases, gain a territory, now what, how do I use it, can I change the rules?

how do I deploy sector defenses?

what should I have in fighters and torps?

and what is the difference between corporate and personal?

I'm a newbie myself, but I can help a little

Once you have the three bases the sector is yours - if you click on the sector title you can see the 'rules' for the sector and are given (at the top) an option to change those rules - you can for example stop someone else from building planets - and (your point 2) enable sector defences - this allows you to unload torpedoes (that become mines) and fighters - that consume energy from your planets into the sector where they will attack an unsuspecting visitor - bad news if he is much bigger than you.

    Corporate/personal - I have no idea...

Whatever you have now * 10

The above formula still applies once you reach the previous number.

"Corporations" are allied traders. Corporate assets are those which are shared between the members of the corporation. Making everything corporate is the way to go if you have anyone else in your corporation, unless you don't trust them, in which case they shouldn't be in your corporation anyway.

        uhm, okay

thanx both of you. now for the followupquestions...

fighters and torps that are on the planets, do they contribute to anything?

is there any way to set them to only attack enemies (how do you set them to know friend from foe?)

if they are corporate, an untrustworthy friend could go in grab everything and resign, then attack the undefended planet? is that correct?

Yes, they are automatically used in defense of the planet if someone attacks. They cannot attack someone in the sector, but someone who tries to land will be attacked.

The only "friendly" players they will not attack are those in your corporation, and even then only if they are corporate.

Yes, but if someone did that, no one would ever trust that person again and they'd never get on a corp. I haven't seen someone backstab in years because it's just stupid and gets you blacklisted by the whole community. Still, caution is important, and you should only ally with those you trust.

Thanx, I'm getting the hang of the game now, it's a bit tedious hauling ore and goods, but it's fun to see all the easy money come rolling, and my head planet is making money as a devil

            way fun
