  • Should I Start a Telnet Tradewars Game?

Would anyone be interested in playing tradewars 2002 via telnet? I used to run the "War of the Worlds" game here at Apolyton, but it flat-lined due to lack of interest. I'd be happy to bang it again if anyone wanted to play!

I guess it goes without saying that I will play.

But we do need more than just the two of us...

Heh, my job is bothering me again, so I have time to play, but probably just evenings (still plenty). Also, some of the guys at work are playing a local TW game, might be able to get 1-2 of them interested (maybe) - just a thought.

Oh, one other thing - and I don't mean to sound un-appreciative or anything - but is the clock problem fixed on that PC? One of the things last game (towards the end) was the game jumping ahead by weeks/months/years??? I remember logging on after about 12 hours, and the game had advanced so much that all my planets were overpopulated, interest was huge, etc. Just a detail. =)

yep, I can just run the new TW version with an internal clock - I was testing a little document archiving program I wrote a while back, that's probably the years thing

I didn't even realize anyone was still playing on that server (it just runs in the background as a service) until I got a few emails and some posts about it here on Apolyton.

But, on the topic of restarting the old server, I hope there's some new blood interested, and not just us 3 old fogies!
