  • FIRAXIS SERVER Game

Well, "Kudos" goes to Apolyton Corporation headed by Burbel and MarkG

So, is everyone ready for a rebang? If so, what are the rules/guidelines we wish to be implemented?

Anyone have any input/suggestions? As far as I'm concerned, I'm easy and will go with the majority (unless something is mentioned and I have a comment on it - but then again, like I said, I'm easy - but not cheap! )

Are the Ferrengi even being played in this game? I never ran across a even one Ferrengi on this game.

It's an issue with the game setup, happened in the last game, too. Dan nixed the Ferrengi, but Ferrengal still gets created.

I should start with 10mil credits and NO PHOTONS for evils that means that we can sleep ANYWHERES

Before we do that we need to agree on the rules and settings.

I think we should just stick with the rules compiled by Spekter.

As for settings what about 600 turns and 15% port regen rate, plus a higher colonist regen rate at Terra?

The more turns and the higher the port regen rate the more offense is favoured. Also anybody who doesn't start on the first day gets screwed even more.

Actually, I don't want to get into a turn explosion in the game, if at all possible. 600 sounds reasonable; but I think the port regen rate should be higher, the planetary trade percentage should be higher, and conditions should be better for evils (so maybe we'll get one or two this game).

I think the Terra regeneration rate was reasonable; if everyone can get all the colos they want, then that takes a whole lot of the game out. In the end, Apolyton had 232M colos; more than enough, I think. It Terra had 1,000,000 colos, then everyone would have maxed planets, and I don't think it would improve the game very much. It took 3 corps with ISSes to drain terra; seeing as how a new game would have around 10 players, I think, that doesn't seem unreasonable...

                What's "planetary trade percentage?"

Wasn't the port regen rate at 5% in the old game?

Well, the fact remains, we did drain terra - and with just 3 ISS equipped corps. You had the lions share of colonists, there only ever were about 300 million in the game I believe. That is just not enough for a "real" tradewars game, with big planet farms, and a whole new level of strategies. I would suggest a regen rate of 7,000-10,000 - this is what is used on most other tournament games. People have learned a lot this game, and I think terra is going to be pumped for all its worth, even at these higher levels.

Planetary trade rates are the percentages of normal value you can make when you negotiate a planetary trade agreement. 50% means you make half of what you would get if you shuttled the goods from the planet to the port. 90%+ is required for anyone to make money doing planet farming, and also helps evils a lot because they can do a profitable SDT (steal/dump/transport)

My recommendations are: higher colo regen rate, 95% planetary trade rate, 20% port regen rate, better evil steal/sell rates. This will all lead to more money in the game, which makes those citadels less invincible, and makes actual strategy an issue.

Actually, I would bet that there is around 232M colos in the world, plus the few on Terra -- what sectors did you guys have (I am flying around now cleaning house, there are only 28 planets left, 8 are ours, 1 is terra, those are the only citadels...). I am trying to clear out the rest of the universe... I want to see the area clean.

My only concern is that, if there's too much money floating about the game will be tipped towards the offense.

That's why I think we need some kind of happy middle ground.

                        burbel,
