Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
I think that happens when you warp into a sector that has debris, an enemy fighter or mines (not completely sure about that ) in it.
Important safety tip: don't try to warp willy nilly unless you want up as space dust.
Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken. Doubt is humbling and constructive; it leads to rational thought in weighing alternatives and fully reexamining options, and it opens unlimited vistas.
It's what happens when you do a "blind warp" into any sector that has something in it. A mine, a hostile fighter, a ship, a planet. Maybe even a port or a beacon.
A "blind warp" is a t-warp into any sector in which you do *not* have a fighter. Also, while at > 1,000 alignment you can t-warp directly to fedspace, IIRC, if your alignment drops below 1,000, you no longer have that ability.
Attempting to go there anyway will almost always destroy you, since you "fuse" with the beacons, ports, traders, whatever.
A blind warp can be a devastating tactic, for either side that uses it. Makes e-probes more useful!
Ohhhhhh, so that's what a "blind warp" is. I thought it was when you
warp into an adjacent sector w/o scanning it first. That worried me
when I started the game because you don't start out with any kind
of scanner, so you have to make it to SpaceDock first. I was crossing
my fingers every time I jumped until I bought a density scanner.
What I thought would happen if you blind warped is that you'd be
lost in hyperspace, essentially dead.
Actually, this is only a problem when t-warping. For example, going from sector 1 to the Stardock in a single move, and skipping the intermediate sectors.
While I don't remember the beginning of this game that well, I doubt that you were t-warping from Terra to the Stardock on the 1st turn in the game.
Although that would make for an interesting option in a rebang.
Yeah, I know I wasn't transwarping at the beginning of the game. I meant to say that I was moving through adjacent sectors w/o the benefit of a density scanner. That's what I originally thought blind-warping was.
P.S. No need to get pompous, aeturneus. Just because one of your hairbrained schemes actually worked for a change.
