If you destroy a starport, can you build a new one once you clear away the debris? BTW, I think I just made a big mistake

Oh well, 25% navhaz in my home sector is not that much of a problem, is it? I just hope my corp mate doesn't kill me...

What happened? Was it hard to destroy (I didn't even know you could destroy them, but I guess it's possible since they can be attacked)...

It wasn't hard to destroy, but 25% navhaz

How can I get rid of Navhaz? There are five planets in this sector.

It says "high levels of radiation due to a recently destroyed starport" in the text at the top of the sector display. Perhaps when this is no longer recent, it becomes possible to build a starport? I am going to have to find out how long that is.

ARGH! If I can't get rid of the navhaz this is really going to set our corp back. It will be impossible to even safely remove the colonists from the planets there.

Plus, we lose our privacy. But that was going to happen sooner or later anyways...

ok I found out some info: the starport radiation is supposed to clear after 14 days. Does anyone know how long it takes for navhaz to dissapear?

IIRC, Nav Haz either drops 1, 2, or 3% per day (I think it's even sysop configurable, which is why I'm not positive).

But I think it was 1% per day, so you're looking at 25 days... Bummer.

Luckily, you *did* have a backup sector, right?

Doesn't the use of a genesis torpedoes also lower navhaz (10%)? I remember reading that somewhere. Trouble is that you already have 5 planets in your sector. You can [/i]go over the limit[/i] but there'll be a chance planets start to collide with each other. Which means those planets are toast and increase the navhaz as well.

Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken. Doubt is humbling and constructive; it leads to rational thought in weighing alternatives and fully reexamining options, and it opens unlimited vistas.

Yes you have captured my predicament perfectly. I guess we will have to relocate until the navhaz clears.
