It appears that both upstream nodes to firaxis.com: wolns1.winstar.com and wolns2.winstar.com have crashed.

Then how could anybody else access the game?

UR, those are the DNS servers. Your machine is probably able to connect, it just can't translate firaxis.com into the correct IP address.

My computer can't see the firaxis server over the Net. That's the problem. It's not about software. At least not yet.
