  • How the blameless have fallen...

Even the mighty and virtuous may fall from grace. Marko Polo, historically a paragon of indisputable integrity, was seduced by the shadowy pleasures of the dark side today. For unknown reasons, King Thor ejected him from his corporation and shortly after this the federation posted a bounty on his head. Thor must have truly felt the pangs of treachery, for he himself quickly went to stardock and posted an additional bounty on Marko's head. To preserve law and order in the galaxy, I took it upon myself to chasten Marko for his lawlessness. I am happy to report that through careful observation of his malificent activities I was able to destroy him soon after he abandoned the path of light. Let this be a warning to all those darklings who attempt to befoul fed-space with their unworthy presence.

Marko, I pray that this day in purgatory will remove the stain of sin from you forever. I sincerely wish it could have been otherwise, but I will not sacrifice my stand for the truth on the altar of cordiality.

King Thor, I hope this will somewhat assuage whatever grievance you had with Polo. Unfortunately, I was unable to completely destroy his assets. I tried to attack his unmanned merchant freighter in fedspace, but apparently his death had raised his alignment to 0 and made the task impossible. Perhaps it is for the best, since the Feds will scrap the ship at midnight and the wages of sin will be used to combat evil.

In hope of a better tommorow, I wish you goodnight.

It seems like a little game they played to get King Thor a Fed commission. Though you might have put a dent in it by knocking off Marko Polo.

      yeah....

this is what probably happened: marko did something minor to get "a little" evil, king thor placed a 500T reward on him and got his comission. he then captured marko and got back his reward money!

aeturneus cost them some more money and now marko has one life less, but it was a good deal....

Actually, we were not even so sure we'd get the moeny back if I podded Marko. But what we were counting on was that we're rather have the 500K 'disappear' when Marko becomes good again. Than put it on Solarwind and have some other guy take the money.

Aeturneus didn't only attack Marko though. He tried to attack me, but failed, and also tried to attack Spekter when I was on once. He is basically an oportunist and just wants to pounce on whoever he can. It was unfortunate that he ended up logging on right when we were in the middle of our operation.

But dont worry. The Cruzaders will have their revenge. He slowed us down a bit, but not much, and we are already the first to get an ISS. It wont be long before we decide to abandon our peaceful ways and go in search of scum, like Aeturneus.

Well, I think those statements are rather unfair. I didn't attack King Thor at all (why would I? I needed a comission... no way in heaven I would take an alignment hit like that... oh well) and I certainly didn't attack Spekter, unless destroying a single deployed fighter way out in the boonies counts as an 'attack'. If that is so, then I think everyone in the game has already attacked me at least once

Well, you do that... but take care. Captain Zyrain won't let you stay in that ISS for long if you start taking pot-shots at people with +1000 alignment
