I lost a ship that way last game. One of the advantages of having an Imperial Starship is being able to warp into any fedspace sector. Unfortunately, this does not extend to good players in corporate flagships or havoc gunstars, the other two ships that can carry a t-warp drive. This means that if you try to warp into fedspace with one of these ships, you will be blind warping. Blind warps will result in your ship being completely destroyed 100% of the time unless the sector you are warping to is completely empty, with no planet, port, limpet mine, fighters, traders, etc. Thus, the only way to t-warp directly to stardock or to terra is to get into an Imperial Starship. Otherwise, you can only deploy fighters outside fedspace, t-warp to that sector, and then warp to terra or stardock. This is why Imperial Starships are the best ship in the game, bar none, and the reason why good players (who have access to an ISS) can colonize much more easily than evil players.

Sorry about your ship. It really sucks to lose something that valuable this early into a game.

It's a bad idea to zip around the universe in such an expensive ship early in the game anyway.

Actually, I seem to remember the problem being that, without a *commission*, you cannot warp to a Fed-controlled sector. It might also be without an alignment above 1000. When I blew up a few good aliens and traders in the last game and my alignment went below 1000, I could not twarp to fedspace or the stardock.
