  • Do Colonies Grow?

Do colonists reproduce on planets other than terra? If so, does the rate depend on the planet type, or do they grow at a uniform rate? Any strategies for growing colonists? There really is a pinch on at terra... maybe the colonist rate could be increased

Depending on the planet type, colonist can grow; they can also die.

For example, on a Volcanic world, I have heard that there is a considerable negative population growth factor at work.

On a class M planet, there is positive population growth but it's
    not that high, IMHO.

On a Volcanic world, any colonists left under the production of Organics WILL DIE overnight!! As far as my chart goes, this is the only type of world were all colonists will die in a single night.

Sorry, but I do not know what the "colonists reproduction rates" are concerning the different types of worlds.

        In general,

Oceanic and Earth type planets are the best for pop growth.

Oceanic planets have the largest capacity.

Moutainous planets also have positive growth but are not as good as M and O class planets.

the rest I dont care or bother about. Desert, Glacier, Volcanic, and Gaseuous are just not worth the effort IMO.
