  • Poll: "TW League rules"

Do you accept these rules in the current and new games we are going to play? I think if everyone would follow these the game would be fair to all. Do you agree?

Please read the rules in the other thread and post here if you concur!

I think we need to modify these rules a bit. Since they apply mostly to Game league type games.

I, for one, will accept the rules in it's entirety - including the "Corporate Back-stabbing clause," but I understand that this clause, and others like it were made for a "league" game - which this is not.
So the bottom line is this - I'm for a set of rules!...What ever those rules turn out to be, as long as they're fair for all.

Hey, I have a suggestion. Let's give this game to Apolyton Corporation and start a new "big bang" Yes Apolyton Corp, even though I would love to see you get everything that's coming to you, I for one, realize it's just an uphill battle from here. I suggest we give Apolyton Corp their just deserved "star" for a campaign well thought-out and fought-out and move on...but, if we want to continue this "fiasco," then of course, I'll still plug away at this.

But folks, realize this: Apolyton Corporation has 4 members - all with ISS's (or soon to be)...the writing is on the wall for this game...and I'm already running into their "toll" fighters scattered throughout the known universe.

What are the feelings of everyone else?

One other thing that I'm curious about:

I wonder who this Midnight Star is realy working for? I cannot believe that a single non corporate-aligned player can bring so much fire power to bare just by himself. Folks, if you're wondering who this "Midnight Star" person is, he is/she is the only one now with a Battleship...and it's loaded for business! Now, where is he/she getting the support infrastructure? And don't believe it's from "port trading" alone.

Hey, if anyone has an idea of who Midnight Star is, I'm curious to
find out. Here on the boards "he" listed his address at
Pflugerville, Texas. Not sure there are that many other computer
          users here in Pflugerville! =)

Well, Midnight Shadow isn't me, but all of those funny names you've been
              seeing lately... =)

Also, if we complain about the DLs, I think having to private email
to the "sysop" to get a login would be a nice reasonable touch --
in the old days you had the modem callback mechanism, and that kept
              most folks honest...

I know that I have gotten a few guys here at work to play with me
(although we *do* share information like port pairs and interesting
sectors), and then my little brother at home, then one of hist friends...

Perhaps putting logins to email addresses plus a little bit of
honesty from the part of the players would be good, too!

Now, if I can just get the max corp size down to 1... 8P

I think we need to adopt Thor's customized rules, and run with those. The rules on corporate backstabbing and the regulation of game diplomacy don't sit well with me, and I don't think they belong in a game of this type where negotiations and unstable allegiances are half the fun.

So Mark, Apolyton Corporation is now 4 out of 4 (all members have ISS's). Congradulations are definately in order. So, "Kudos" to you!

Obviously, I'm in favour. I'm the one who brought it up. I was hoping for the backstabbing rules to be in place, but I guess I can live (nervously) without them. Anyone looking for a new friend?
