Gas Giants

Just a couriousity... The in-game description hints that Gas Giants planets can actually produce something, but the actual planet lists no production of anything. Does building a citadel change the values for production?

I'm just wondering if I should spend/waste my time building a citadel on a Gas Giant or if I should just create a new one.

My experience tells me never waste time on
Gas,
Volcanic
glacial
and desert planets.

Only 3 are good. Class O, M & L.

What's wrong with volcanic? You can get piles of fuel very quickly.

Volcanic is good ore producers and I thought desert wasn't bad, but Gas and Glacial really suck.

Volcanic will kill your pop on it. They are good at producing ores, but I quit colonizing them when I kept seeing my pop dying out ever few days. It really sucked.

Deserts, well. Okay, but not too good either.
