dan, i managed to play my turns today in full cause i happened to tow a ship, making a 20-turn trip cost me 80. and for the rest of the time, i was always looking at the "clock". this is supposed to be fun....

Dude, try using some of those turns to go exploring. When you have 400 turns, you can afford to use 100 of them just looking through places you haven't been. You'd be amazed at some of the ports just begging for stuff because no one has wandered out that far. Instead of fighting with everyone else for the same few ports, go find some new ones.

Because you are playing with someone else's toy.
Plus, the game is probably running on some dusty 486 shoved into a corner somewhere in the back offices at Firaxis. What Dan should do is remove the time limit during non-business hours. But that's probably a pain in the mule (ahem).
