  • Cylons? Who are they?!

The Cylons are here Sounds like a new race of nasties!

God damn! I just stumbled into them and they killed me!

Don't we have enough facing the Ferrengi?

The good news is the Cylons will also be facing off against the Ferrengi. The bad news is they were a bit too strong out of the gate and ate your lunch =) Read my thread elsewhere on the forum, I've resurrected an Orion starship for you, just let me know what you lost in terms of holds, fighters, and credits. And be HONEST =)

Anyway, hopefully the added threat of the Cylons might make the game a little more unpredictable and slow down the runaway player syndrome (i.e., if someone joins today they don't have a great chance of catching up with the top player).

I just calculated that they have killed 12 (!!!) traders in less than two days!

Thanks, "Ambassador They Eyes of Horus" for spanking them! Please tell us what you actually did to them!

12 traders in under two days is indeed a tad much. Man, at that rate they would have killed every player in the game by wednesday!
Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken. Doubt is humbling and constructive; it leads to rational thought in weighing alternatives and fully reexamining options, and it opens unlimited vistas.

Their growth rate must have been set too high. I've basically set it to one quarter of what the Ferrengi growth rate is, plus I've crippled their ships and reduced their rate of exploration. I'll ask folks to be vigilant and keep an eye out for them, make sure they aren't getting out of hand again.

                Thanks,

Thanks Dan. I really hope that those modifications are sufficient!
