  • Civ2 and Spanish Independence War

I know that there are (or will be) some people working on scenaries about Spanish Independence War (1808-1814). I want to know news about these scenaries!

Also, I have some questions for my history-lovers friends:

    1. Was the English help necesary? I know that they put armies against the "evil" french , but I have read that they also destroy the industries in the cities where they can. Is that true?

    2. Was so evil the brother of Napoleon as King? Think on Fernando VII, what a bad guy!

    3. Is this war the reason for a bad century like XIX?

    4. If Fernando VII goes to America (like the Portuguese King do), What will happened with Bolivar?

    And more...

(Please reply in Enligsh. I love that our non-Spanish friends can add their knowlegde...)

    1. In times of trouble any kind of help is welcome. That we could have done better w/o them in the long run? Absolutely. Yes, the English destroyed the Castilian wool industry (the best and the cheapest). The reasons were obvious.

    2. No, he actually was way better than all the Bourbons who came in later. W/o the Bourbons Spain would have fared much better thruout the XIX century

    3. Answered above. The Bourbons never ever!

    4. Dunno. Tough one. That move would have questioned the legitimacy of the uprisings? Possibly.

I like these years, but I should read something to refresh my memory.
I just can say that, in my opinion, Pepe Botella might be a good king for Spain. But you know, Spanish people didn't love him and he had to leave... Don't forget Bonaparte forbad our "Santa Inquisición"... Hmm... they're so great, those French...

Spain should have let Napoleon to settle in Spain. Today, this would be a top civ. (¡¡POLEMIC!! :doitnow!)

Pepé Botella was and could have been a good king... but he was French. The Bourbons were French too, and look what they did...
