When I was in San Diego, there was a soccer announcer (either Univision or one of the Baja stations) who was quite amusing. He had this characteristic yell: "GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL".
Kind of became a cult thing to imitate it. Remember hearing it on the mighty six ninety and the like...Comment

Yes, football is one of the biggest sports here. Except football for us is the sport where the players throw the ball to each other, trying to score touchdowns, while trying to taclke each other.Originally posted by yaroslav

But as far as soccer is concerned (thats what we call fútbol here) , it is my favorite sport to play, I played it for 7 years, but it seems kind of boring as something just to watch, being that it takes so long for any team to ever score a goal, which is probably why its not too popular as a spectator sport. If you want something fun to watch, you should have checked out the boxing fight between Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis that just ended about an hour ago, one of the most anticipated fights in recent memory. Now that was an event! Tyson got the complete $hit beat out of him, exactly what he deserved.Comment
