1745 - a year of rebellion!

London is by no means closed to French trade. If it were, all land routes would also have been blockaded. However, the path of the Channel Squadron of the Royal Navy cannot be allowed to be blocked, so a guardship will now be permanently moored in the Thames Estuary.

The recent incident with sloppy French merchantmen cluttering up this important waterway while they ate their snail sandwiches will not be allowed to reoccur...

Prince Charles Stuart's rebellion in Scotland has been crushed. One of our Regiments was caught napping at Glencoe and routed, but General Cumberland expertly deployed the rest of his brigade to bring the rebels to heel. A program of Enclosures has begun in the Highlands...

Meanwhile, our Engineers are developing larger calibre guns to match those now being seen on the Continent.

Nice that this game is speeding up so well. Soon, all the techs will have been discovered...then what shall we do?

The Falmouth militia has sent a large force of Souix hosemen packing, bullets whistling about their ears...

That's about the only action in the northern hemisphere, as far as I can tell.

English Cannon-masters are now casting huge guns, akin to those seen on the Continent. Very useful for countering those new-fangled artillery forts that chap Vaubin has designed.
